  Journey to Performance Excellence
      Building Internal Champions

High performing organizations are learning organizations - they evaluate and improve everything they do. The Journey to Performance Excellence develops a culture of continuous quality improvement that leads to becoming a role model organization. The goal of the program is to develop internal quality consultants through a series of classes that will help transform your organization to achieve Performance Excellence and role model recognition.

3-TIERED BALDRIGE-BASED TRAINING

RAISING THE BAR is a one-day introduction for anyone interested in improving the performance of their organization. This workshop covers:
  • Core Values to Achieve Performance Excellence
  • Integrated Management System for Performance Excellence
  • Criteria for Performance Excellence Framework
  • Overview of Point Values and Scoring System
  • Self-Assessment Options for Organizational Performance
  • Practical Applications of the Performance Excellence Criteria with local and national organizations
CRITERIA CHAMPION is a 3-day program on the advanced concepts of the Performance Excellence Criteria. The course will include lecture, group discussion, and exercises. In this course you will:
  • Gain an in-depth knowledge of the Core Values
  • Gain an in-depth study of the Criteria and Linkages
  • Acquire an overview of the Scoring System
  • Learn practical applications of the Performance Excellence Criteria with local and national organizations
VERMONT EXAMINER TRAINING is a 2-day program designed to develop the necessary skills to identify organizational strengths and key opportunities for improvement. This is the highest level of Baldrige training.
  • Gain an in-depth knowledge of the Malcolm Baldrige Scoring System
  • Develop analytical skills as it applies to evaluating performance maturity of an organization
  • Learn communication skills, interview and feedback report writing
  • Become qualified to serve as a quality consultant to your organization and as a VT Performance Excellence Examiner
PERFORMANCE EXCELLENCE CLASSES:
  • Building Excellence: Strategically Planning Your Organization's Future: Clarify your organization's approach to the future (1-day class)
    • Develop strategy planning process
    • Execute your plans

  • Customers First!: determine the needs and preferences of customers and markets. Decipher how your organization builds relationships with customers and what steps lead to customer acquisition, satisfaction, loyalty and retention.
    • Identify and understand your customers, what is important to them, and how to incorporate this knowledge into your strategy and operations
    • Implement a customer focused process by identifying practices and techniques that build customer relations, satisfaction and loyalty
    • Learn how to measure your organization’s performance at becoming a customer-focused organization
    • Establish the critical few measures that will enhance your organization’s customer focus and predict its impact on your bottom line

  • Making Change Work: Tools for Overcoming Resistance to Change
    • Help team leaders understand and deal with the human aspect of change
    • Use tools to measure your organization's readiness to change
    • Learn how to develop an improvement model
    • Learn when and how to apply process improvement tools

  • Leading Quality Teams: Problem solving methodology and other skills, tools, and methods needed for results-based teamwork. (2-day class)
    • Getting your team started
    • Learn decision making methods
    • Developing team charters
    • Meeting skill strategies
    • Team structure roles and responsibilities for improvement
