About the Course
The Vermont Council for Quality offers new and returning examiners a series of webinars and one in-person training day designed to develop each individual's capabilities to evaluate strengths and opportunities for improvement within narrative and survey assessments, write high quality comments, accurately score a narrative, identify site visit issues, and develop interview skills.
The Examiner training will introduce the new Baldrige National Quality Award process for evaluating applications for both new and returning examiners.

Session 1: Oct. 5, 2010 - 1:00-4:30 p.m. (webinar) and
Session 2: Late Oct. (TBD) 8:00-12:00 p.m. (webinar) and
Session 3: Nov. 9, 2010 - 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. - at the VA Medical Center in WRJ
The Vermont Council for Quality and the Granite State Quality Council are joining together to offer this training for both State Programs. Both new and returning examiners will become certified to serve on the Board of Examiners and also become eligible to serve for other State Award Programs.
Pre-requisite Criteria Class or equivalent or new examiner. Returning examiners must have completed previous examiner training.
Pre-work is required in order to derive maximum benefit from the training - approximately 10 hours.
In this class you will:
- Gain an in-depth knowledge of the Malcolm Baldrige Scoring System
- Develop analytical skills as it applies to evaluating performance maturity of an organization through the narrative assessment and survey assessment approach
- Learn about the examiner's role in the consensus process
- Learn communication skills, interview, and feedback report writing
- Become qualified to serve as a quality consultant to your organization and as a Performance Excellence Examiner for Vermont and other states

Instructor
Anne Warner has almost 20 years experience driving organizational improvement. Since 2003, Anne has been a member of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Board of Examiners and currently serves as a Senior Examiner for the MBNQA. She has served on the Granite State Quality Council Board of Directors as the Chair of the Awards and Application Committee, and has served as a Judge and Senior Examiner for the Massachusetts and California state award programs.

**Grants and scholarships are available to Vermont organizations for the industries in health care, manufacturing, IT, telecom, and environmental through a partnership with the VT Training Program at the Department of Economic Development. Cancellation Policy
Registration fees must be paid on or before the workshop date. Fees cover course materials, continental breakfast and lunch. Registration fees will be credited 90% for cancellations made 3 business days prior to the webinar. Within 3 business days of the workshop, only substitutions will be accepted. No-shows will be charged the full registration fee. Classes may be cancelled if there are less than 6 people. If this does occur, you will be contacted one week prior to the first webinar.
