Success
VCQ's primary products include a comprehensive training
series and an organizational assessment process that helps organizations
better understand and prioritize key strengths and improvement
opportunities upon which plans can be created. The assessment process,
much like an annual health physical, helps leaders understand what is
working well in their organizations, and on what they should be focusing
their attention. Strong organizations contribute to a strong economy,
provide good jobs, and make Vermont a great place to live, work and
learn.
Get started now with the Baldrige

to assist you with your strategic plan. Call VCQ at 802-655-1910 to learn
more about this innovative process that will guide your organization on
the pathway to performance excellence.
The 11 Core Values
to Achieve Performance Excellence
The Malcolm Baldrige
Performance Excellence Criteria are built on a powerful set of eleven
common values that describe the behavior and beliefs common to high
performing organizations. Maybe you will find your own organization's
values or similar values in this list. We will focus on each of these
values in detail with this current and upcoming issues.
- Visionary Leadership
- Customer-Driven Excellence
- Organizational and Personal Learning
- Valuing Employees and Partners
- Agility
- Focus on the Future
- Manage for Innovation
- Management by Fact
- Public Responsibility and Citizenship
- Focus on Results and Creating Value
- Systems Perspective
1. Visionary Leadership Your
organization’s senior leaders should set directions and create a customer
focus, clear and visible values, and high expectations. The directions,
values, and expectations should balance the needs of all your
stakeholders. Your leaders should ensure the creation of strategies,
systems, and methods for achieving performance excellence, stimulating
innovation, building knowledge and capabilities, and ensuring
organizational sustainability. The values and strategies should help guide
all of your organization’s activities and decisions. Senior leaders should
inspire and motivate your entire workforce and should encourage all
employees, including any volunteers, to contribute, to develop and learn,
to be innovative, and to be creative. Senior leaders should be responsible
to your organization’s governance body for their actions and performance.
The governance body should be responsible ultimately to all your
stakeholders for the ethics, actions, and performance of your organization
and its senior leaders.
Senior leaders should serve as role models
through their ethical behavior and their personal involvement in planning,
communications, coaching, development of future leaders, review of
organizational performance, and employee recognition. As role models, they
can reinforce ethics, values, and expectations while building leadership,
commitment, and initiative throughout your
organization.
