Are You Ready to Begin the
Baldrige Journey? | |
For those of you who think the Baldrige process is a complicated one, here is a step-by-step plan of how to begin your journey toward performance excellence.
Step 1: Membership - Become an organizational or individual member to learn about all our classes and events we offer and to receive discounts on education and training. See our Member Benefits sheet for a complete list of all membership advantages.

Raising the Bar - A 1-day introductory class where participants will learn basic concepts and application of Performance Excellence Criteria as it relates to the everyday work of the organization and how it is used as a continuous improvement framework.
- Criteria Champion Class (Optional) - A 2-day program where workforce members who have completed Raising the Bar learn the advanced concepts of performance excellence.
- Vermont Examiner Training (Optional) - A series of webinars and a 1-day class will be completed over a span of two months for participants to gain expert level knowledge to become a certified examiner of organizational performance.
Step 3: Get Involved in Additional Training and Workshops
Build relationships with VCQ staff and other members, and expand your Criteria experience by attending our various training events:

Begin evaluating your organizational performance with the following tools (all optional):
- Organizational Profile - The organizational profile serves as your foundation for learning. It is a statement of your operating environment and what is relevant and important to your organization and its performance.
- Baldrige Express Online Self-Assessment Survey - Receive feedback report based on staff input of performance levels, strengths, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
- Baldrige Green - A comprehensive self-assessment of your organizations level of sustainability.
- Site Visit - Receive additional feedback on strengths and opportunities from external VCQ Examiners to validate Baldrige Score for award and recognition.
Note: all assessment come with a detailed, easy to understand Feedback Report complete with strengths, weaknesses, areas for improvement, and opportunities.
