Organizational Assessment
The Vermont Program for Performance Excellence supports organizational learning and improvement through several assessment options utilizing the Criteria for Performance Excellence. Each assessment process includes feedback to the organization on strengths and opportunities to improve. VCQ recognizes and awards organizations that participate in the assessment process in the spring at the Recognition and Awards Ceremony. The assessment options include:
Baldrige Express and Explorer
The online Organizational Self-Assessment guides you through the 7 categories, addressing each item of the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence. The assessment is completed by a cross section of staff in your organization. Participants select organizational demographic information by position, function, location, etc. to provide comparative data in the feedback report. The assessment consists of 45 questions and asks participants to select a priority improvement area in each category along with comments on how to improve the process. The assessment takes approximately 1-2 hours to complete.

Baldrige Express is an easy-to-read self-assessment based on a Likert maturity scale. The Express gives all employees an opportunity to get involved in the assessment process. The Express is recommended for organizations beginning the Baldrige process.
Business Express Health Care Express Education Express
Baldrige Explorer is a comprehensive self-assessment with unique behavioral anchors for every question. The Explorer is preferred by organizations who have experience in the Baldrige process.
