Debbie Cardello, RN, MSN, Studer Group

Studer Group is an outcomes based health care consulting firm devoted to teaching evidence based tools and processes that organizations can immediately use to create and sustain outcomes in clinical and operational excellence. Debbie Cardello will present an overview of Studer Group’s Evidence Based Leadership (EBL) Model which is used internally as a Leadership System and externally with over 800 partners across the country. Additionally, she will share how Studer Group utilized the Baldrige criteria to focus, align and accelerate their performance excellence journey resulting in recognition as a 2010 recipient of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.

In 2004, Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital launched an organizational transformation initiative called Moving from Good to Great. At the heart of this strategy was an intention to become "the best place for physicians to practice, associates to work and patients to receive care." Good Samaritan's organization-wide commitment to pursue performance excellence has led to numerous breakthroughs in clinical and service outcomes and ultimately to its selection as the 2010 healthcare recipient of a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. Many of the approaches that have contributed to Good Samaritan's successful journey can be applied to any organization seeking to achieve breakthroughs in performance. In this presentation, Pattie Skriba will share these critical strategies and powerful synergies required to transform and achieve sustainable success.

How well does your current leadership evaluation process hold leaders accountable for results? Learn how Studer Group uses the Evidence Based Leadership (EBL) Model to hardwire the Accountability Process. Debbie Cardello will describe how to cascade goals using the Leader Evaluation Process, conduct a Monthly Meeting Model and develop 90 day Action Plans in order to create organizational alignment and accountability.

The cornerstone to achieving some of the best health outcomes in America is a culture of high performance and engagement with physicians, associates, and volunteers. Organizations may have workforce strategies, but without intentionally creating a culture to engage and promote world-class performance strategies will fall short. This session will outline and share how leadership was the cultural-architect and strategy author for creating the best place for physicians to practice, associates to work, and patients to receive care.

"The Power of Aligned Processes and Aligned Behaviors"

Embedded in the Evidence Based Leadership (EBL) Model is Aligned Behaviors and Aligned Processes. Debbie Cardello will describe how Studer Group used the Baldrige Criteria to design, manage, improve and innovate its key processes. Additionally, the 5 Fundamentals of Communication, (AIDET) will be described. Learn how this tool can be used to engage customers and create loyalty.
